Guest Speaker Wendy Elks is an author, illustrator, journalist and educator who chooses to specialise in exploring and presenting the unique Australian environment and spirit in varying formats. She is widely published in fiction, non-fiction, children’s and magazine publishing. With almost 30 years’ experience in the fields of creativity, learning and publishing and an enduring interest in the rural sector, Wendy’s latest   project   involves   collaboration   with   an   Albury-based creative/marketing  venture  and  Melbourne-based  artist  Glenn Pearce, to bring to vivid life the broad and important roles of Australia’s immense and vital road transport industry. Wendy’s belief in the power of children’s literature to extend, educate and empower young people, at the beginning of their life journey, brings great enthusiasm and joy to this project, the Berty Button series of books.
