Guest Speaker, Sue Chamberlain, is from Wodonga, married to Chris and a daughter, Nikki, and I am 70 years young. I feel that I inherited my sense of community from my Dad, Tom Jelbart, and much of my life has been volunteering for one thing or another or serving on committees. My journey with Nepal started in 2004 with a Scots School trek to Gokyo Valley and Everest Base Camp and my love of the country and its people has grown over the years. In 2 weeks time I will be returning for my 14th visit to Nepal for the reopening of the new school in a remote community that was totally destroyed during the earthquake of 25 April 2015. I have been fundraising over the past 10 months and am very excited to be there for the official opening on 17 April and to know that these very deserving children will be able to continue their education in a strong and safe environment.
